So Community Board 8 finds these very slender, elegant shelters a detriment to Madison Ave.? How on earth would the slender ad displays make Madison Ave. look like Times Square?! And how could such skinny, mostly transparent structures “block” Madison Ave. businesses?
Many of us who take buses, especially seniors, or others walking and shopping in the neighborhood welcome these places to sit. And the shelters’ lighting brightens parts of the avenues that would otherwise be dark at night.
