Commenting Policy

We love a rousing debate, but in order to keep this a safe and fun place for everyone, we’ve put together some basic rules covering respect, trust and safety.

Basically, it boils down to being a reasonable person. This list isn’t exhaustive, but here’s what you need to know:

No Violence

Upper East Site prohibits comments encouraging dangerous behavior or acts of violence.

No Hate Speech

Don’t be racist. Upper East Site will not tolerate any bullying because of a person’s race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status or sexual orientation.

No Spamming

No links in comments, please. Making multiple accounts to spam us? You’ll get banned. Evading a ban? Super-Double Banned.

No Disinformation

Don’t spread misinformation or disinformation in our comments section. No plotting insurrections either.

No Personal Attacks

Safety and privacy are of the utmost importance, that means no doxxing or personal attacks on other Upper East Site subscribers.

No Illegal Activity

Don’t post anything criminal or advocate for crime.

No Impersonation

You may not impersonate anyone. Misrepresenting your identity in an effort to deceive or mislead will not be tolerated.

No Infringement

We respect Copyrights and Trademarks and expect you to do the same. Give attribution when appropriate.

To enforce these rules, we may take a variety of actions against violators including removal of content, limitations on service and suspensions from our platform.

Commenting privileges are reserved for Ally, Backer and Benefactor-level subscribers.
