The increasing smash-and-grab robberies and burglaries and large-scale organized shoplifting were bad enough, Now we’re seeing an increase in armed robberies as well as assaults – many in broad daylight.

We definitely need more highly visible police presence throughout the UES.
I think the presence of smoke shops have changed the UES for the worse. They alone are easy targets as they have a reputation for cash transactions and likely increase the likelihood that other businesses will be targeted too.
