Vulnerable Missing Elderly UES Man May Need Medical Attention: NYPD 🆓

Police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing elderly Upper East Side man who may need medical attention after he vanished, driving away in a rented car.

Detectives say 84-year-old Chin Lee was last seen leaving his home, a high rise located at the corner of East 71st Steet and First Avenue, around 11:00 am Monday morning, April 29th.

From there, cops say the octogenarian, who sources told Upper East Site suffers from dementia, rented a car from Avis — though police did not specify which branch — and drove off.

The black 2024 Mazda CX3 crossover has New Jersey tags, according to police, with the plate number’ U64UBT,’ which was later spotted driving westbound on the upper level of the George Washington Bridge toward New Jersey, presumably picked up by license plate readers stationed on the busy Hudson River crossing.

Surveillance images released by investigators late Monday night show the specific vehicle rented by Lee on the streets of New York City, though its not clear exactly where they were taken.

Police describe the missing, vulnerable 84-year-old as standing 5’4″ tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red sweater, black pants, brown shoes and a black baseball cap, detectives said.
