After taking the Upper East Side by storm, opening three bakeries across the neighborhood in less than a year’s time, French pastry chef Julien Khalaf is expanding his footprint here once again. Julien Boulangerie is set to open a new restaurant with a full menu and featuring plenty of seating later this month. The best part is that it’ll be really easy to find.

That’s because the new 40-seat bistro– 20 inside, 20 outside– will actually start serving lunch and weekend brunch inside Chef Julien’s newest boulangerie— the French word for bakery— which opened in mid-July and is located at 1247 Third Avenue, between East 71st and 72nd Streets.

A sidewalk shed covers the Third Avenue storefront, but step inside the upscale bakery and you’re greeted by a fully-stocked display case features a spread of sugary and savory fresh-baked pastries, in addition to a wide variety of macarons.

The new bistro-within-the-bakery is expected to open on September 22nd, and will offer waiter service along with with a simple French menu for lunch and weekend brunch, featuring a selection of soups, salads and sandwiches for customers, in addition to Chef Julien’s tasty desserts. Beer and wine will also be available.
