Random violence against women continues to plague the Upper East Side. In one recent assault this month, police say a woman was attacked out of nowhere by a stranger inside a medical office building in Lenox Hill.
Detectives say it was around 3:20 pm on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 3rd when the suspect went inside 47 East 77th Street— a building housing several doctors offices— and slapped a 41-year-old woman in the face in a completely unprovoked, random attack.

Investigators say the victim was injured from the slap, but further details on her condition weren’t immediately available.

It’s not clear where inside the building the violence began, however, police have released surveillance images taken in the lobby of the medical building that show the suspect wearing a light and dark blue striped t-shirt, dark color pants and white sneakers.
In one photo, the suspect is making direct eye contact with the surveillance camera with a very surprised look on his face– perhaps realizing he’s being recorded.

The August 3rd assault at 47 East 77th Street is fifth random attack on a woman that Upper East Site has reported on since June.
