Vegan Bakery ‘Innocent Yesterday’ Opens on the Upper East Side

MANHATTAN – From the minds behind Zazzy’s Pizza + Eatery, the Lenox Hill’s hot new pizza shop comes the vegan bakery many have been longing for— and some have sampled already— Innocent Yesterday, Guilty Today.

The vegan bakery and cafe officially opened today at 8am, the latest creation from the Coming Soon Food Group, which created all three sister restaurants— including Zazzy’s, Innocent Yesterday and SNOB (Sophia’s Natural Organic Bowls)— located at the corner of East 77th Street and Second Avenue on the Upper East Side.

Lucky Upper East Siders got to sample some of the sweet and savory treats available at Innocent Yesterday before the shop opened, as the bakery handed out free samples to the public all last week. The snacks went quick, but we were able to taste the vegan hot chocolate with a large vegan marshmallow.

Upper East Site can confirm that the hot chocolate is not only insanely delicious, but you’d also never know it is 100% plant-based if you weren’t told. Founder Jon Gabel tells us that their frozen vegan hot chocolate is even better. We cant wait to try it.

We sampled their vegan soft-serve ice cream as well. It is delicious too—  smooth and creamy in a way you might not expect from a  dairy-free frozen dessert.
