In what can be described only as the most bizarre endorsement in the Democratic primary race to represent the Upper East Side in congress, former President Donald Trump threw his support behind Carolyn Maloney, trolling the congresswoman who is currently locked in a fight for her political life with crosstown rival Rep. Jerry Nadler and challenger Suraj Patel.
“Carolyn Maloney is the better man,” Trump declared on his second-rate Twitter knockoff, Truth Social.
“She will lead our Country into a very GREEN and prosperous future. Carolyn has my Complete and Total Endorsement, she will never let our Conservative Movement down!”

The former guy didn’t stop there. As if a “Complete and Total Endorsement” weren’t enough, he went on to praise Congresswoman Maloney– who is not a conservative– gushing over her perceived loyalty to him.

“She is a kind and wonderful person, who has always said terrific things about me, and will support me no matter what I do, just as I supported her very early on,” Trump wrote.

Maloney quickly fired back on Twitter, where Mr. Trump is still banned.
“This is laughable and I reject any endorsement from Donald Trump,” said Maloney.
“Trump doesn’t respect women. He instigated the attacks on January 6th and claimed that the 2020 election was a big lie. He should be more concerned about the investigation I’m leading as Chair of the Oversight Committee into the storage of his classified documents at Mar-a-Lago,” the longtime member of Congress added.

“Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll pass.”
In a series of posts to Truth Social on Wednesday night, Mr. Trump also praised Maloney’s primary opponent, Rep. Jerry Nadler, calling him “a hard driving man of the people, whose energy and attention to detail is unlike anyone else in Congress.”

Nadler also recently received a head-scratching endorsement. His, from the New York Times Editorial Board, never really explained why it was backing the Upper West Sider, only saying “after a close review of the candidates and their records, [The Times is] confident that Mr. Nadler is the best choice in this race.”

Adding to the weirdness, Trump also endorsed Daniel Goldman in the Democratic primary race for New York’s 10th congressional district covering Lower Manhattan and art of Brooklyn. Goldman is, of course, the former federal prosecutor who served as lead counsel in the President Trump’s first impeachment.
“Lawyer Dan Goldman is running for Congress, NY-10, and it is my great honor to Strongly Endorse him,” Trump wrote in another post.

“While it was my honor to beat him, and beat him badly, Dan Goldman has a wonderful future ahead.”
Goldman also rejected the nod of approval from Mr. Trump.
The head-scratching endorsements have some wondering whether it is a case of trolling and sarcasm, a sign of the former President’s growing senility or a combination of both.
Your guess is as good as ours.

Maloney has served a large chunk of NYC well for decades, first in the City Council. Orangutan has been a leach on NYC, doing as much harm and stealing as much as he can.
It is sad that Nadler and Maloney were ‘redistricted’.
Of COURSE it’s “trolling & sarcasm”!
Trump is a pathologically lying, tax-evading grifter, but he can also be HILARIOUS!
