A Queens man is under arrest, facing attempted murder charges for a vicious, unprovoked attack inside an Upper East Side subway station that left a woman critically injured, police confirm to Upper East Site.

Investigators say 39-year-old Kamal Semrade is the man seen in surveillance images on Sunday, hours after the brutal attack where the suspect slammed a woman’s head into a moving (E) train departing the 63rd Street-Lexington Avenue station on Sunday morning.

The 35-year-old victim was ambushed as she was walking on the station’s southbound platform just after 6:00 am, according to police, who told Upper East Site the suspect shoved her with so much force, she bounced off the train and fell backward, striking her head on the concrete floor.

The woman, who police have not identified, was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition with spinal injuries and cuts to her head. Family members reportedly say she has a slim chance of ever walking again.

Detectives escorted Semrade from the police station located at Columbus Circle subway station to a waiting NYPD cruiser just after noon on Tuesday.

Handcuffed and clad in nike shorts, a t-shirt and white sneakers, the 39-year-old suspect had nothing to say to journalists as he climbed up the subway station steps to face his fate.
