Submit an Obituary

Obituaries submitted to Upper East Site never require a subscription to read and can include up to 1,000 words and five photos of your loved one. 

Obituaries are published as submitted, with editing only done to adhere to AP style and to correct spelling or obvious grammatical errors. If an issue arises, we will contact you prior to publication.

Upper East Site verifies all submissions with the contracted funeral home or service provider. Please provide their contact information with your submission.

The cost to publish an obituary is $150.

To submit an obituary: 

  1. Complete the online form. Upload up to five (5) photos, the first of which will be the obituary’s primary image. No professional photos, please.
  2. Carefully review the obituary text, ensuring there are no typos, including names. Need ideas? Click here
  3. Enter your payment information
  4. Complete your purchase and submit the obituary. Publication will typically occur within 24 hours when received Monday through Thursday.
