And just like that, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon returned to the Upper East Side on Monday to film the upcoming second season of the Sex and the City reboot. Both were caught on camera reprising their roles as the popular characters Carrie Bradshaw and Miranda Hobbes once again.

Exclusive video recorded by Upper East Site shows SJP filming a scene near the corner of East 74th Street and Madison Avenue where her character, Carrie, is walking and talking on her cell phone.

In the scene, Parker, 57, is seen standing in front of gourmet grocer Marche Madison, looking as stylish as ever in a grey plaid double-breasted trench coat, carrying what one expert tells Upper East Site is a Sonia Rykiel studded handbag and wearing Manolo Blahnik shoes.

When the director calls action, Sarah Jessica Parker begins walking north on Madison Avenue while talking on her phone. SJP then makes a right and rounds the corner of East 74th Street, walking halfway down the block in the scene, laughing and smiling while passing some extras on the sidewalk.
It’s not clear who Carrie Bradshaw is talking to on the other end of the phone in the scene, however, one person it likely will not be is Kim Cattrall’s character Samatha Jones.

‘And Just Like That’ showrunner Michael Patrick King has stated that Carrie and Samatha will continue texting each other in the show’s second season to keep Samantha involved despite Cattrall not wanting to portray the character anymore.

Cynthia Nixon was also spotted on set Monday morning, sitting in a chair waiting to shoot her scenes as her character Miranda. A network executive has said the second season of ‘And Just Like That’ will return to the show’s roots.

“What you’re seeing this season is all of these characters embracing life,” HBO Max Head of Originals Sarah Aubrey told Variety earlier this month, “It’s a very joyful season and I think, in some ways, it feels like iconic ‘Sex and the City’ episodes.”

“Most of all, for Carrie, in particular, in the way her character has always been up for the next adventure or the next love, the next friendship in the city, and you really feel that this season,” Aubrey added.

A premiere date for And Just Like That’s second season has not yet been set, however, King has indicated the new episodes are expected to start streaming on HBO Max next summer.
