Pervert Planted Camera in Restroom at Popular UES Bagel Shop: NYPD

Police say a pervert planted a cell phone in the restroom of a popular Upper East Side bagel shop in hopes of recording someone in one of their most private of moments. Instead, the suspect was caught on camera inside the restaurant and investigators are now hoping the public recognizes his face.

Investigators say the suspect, a man seen in surveillance video released Monday afternoon, placed a cell phone inside restroom at Pick-A-Bagel, located at 1475 Second Avenue, between East 76th and 77th Street, in order to record people using the facilities.

Although police are just now sharing the video, this incident actually occurred last November 27th — it was a Sunday afternoon around 12:50 pm. The suspect, who faces a felony charge for Unlawful Surveillance in the Second Degree, was seen wearing a black bubble jacket and a Pick-A-Bagel hat.

Police confirm to Upper East Site the suspect was an employee of the shop at the time and that the cell phone planted in the restroom was discovered the same day.

Upper East Site reached out to Pick-A-Bagel for comment, but did not hear back by time of publication.
