MANHATTAN – The Upper East Side has a starring role in three TV series filming in the neighborhood this week— the Amazon hit series the ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,’ Hulu’s ‘Only Murders in the Building’ and ‘Fleishman is in Trouble’ were all spotted shooting scenes in Yorkville and Lenox Hill.
On Tuesday, the ‘Mrs. Maisel’ production took over the corner of East 75th Street and Lexington Avenue outside of Orsay— the french restaurant– with extras spotted decked out in costumes from the 1950’s and 60’s.

The production wasn’t limited to the sidewalk and street— ‘Maisel’ crew members told passers-by that Mrs. Maisel’s ‘parents,’ the characters Abe and Rose Weissman, were shooting inside Orsay.

Marin Hinkle, who plays Midge’s mother Rose, was spotted in photos walking down the sidewalk holding the arm of a production crew member, however, Abe, played by Tony Shaloub, wasn’t seen outside of Orsay.

Meanwhile in Yorkville, Only Murders in the Building returned to the Mansion diner, located at the corner of East 86th and York Avenue, on Tuesday and Wednesday to shoot the final scenes there this season.

The Mansion, which is standing in for the fictional ‘Pickle Diner’ in the popular Hulu series, appears to have a large role in Only Murders second season, as Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short have all been spotted at the restaurant multiple times.

On Wednesday Morning, ‘Only Murders’ took over East 85th Street near York Avenue for more filming— and later in the day both Martin Short and Steve Martin were spotted on set.
Despite multiple shoots on the Upper East Side over the past three months, the plot for ‘Only Murders’ second season remains a mystery.

It’s worth noting a fake NYPD police car was also spotted on site— you can tell its a film production vehicle because it is marked with blue tape over the cruiser’s ‘police’ decals— those are taken off once it is time to film.

Another giveaway the NYPD cruiser is a fake is the license plate, which bears only four digits, instead of the typical six.
On Monday, the new FX on Hulu limited series ‘Fleishman is in Trouble’ returned to the Upper East Side more than a month after filming scenes at Madame Bonte Cafe.

This time around, stars Jesse Eisenberg and Claire Daines were seen filming on East 88th Street between York and East End.

Monday’s scene featured Eisenberg, best known for his roles portraying Mark Zuckerberg in ‘The Social Network’ and Columbus in ‘Zombieland’ and Danes, star of ‘Homeland’ and ‘My So-Called Life.’

The pair were seen walking down the sidewalk carrying shopping bags— Eisenberg whose character is the eponymous ‘Flieshman’— carrying paper towels under one arm when they come across a coffee table left on the curb with the garbage.

Like true New Yorkers, the two characters stop to pick up the coffee table and the scene rolls on.
Lizzy Caplan and Adrien Brody also star in the new nine-episode FX on Hulu limited series, which does not yet have a premiere date.
