A 23-year-old woman is now behind bars, charged with attempted murder in the grisly stabbing of a employee at an Upper East Side juice shop that turned the business into a crime scene.
Court records show that Chala Jamison, who lives on East 56th Street near Third Avenue in Midtown, was arrested by the NYPD Monday afternoon, less than a week after the gruesome attack inside inside the smoothie shop just a few blocks from her home.

Investigators say it was just 8:30 pm last Wednesday, April 12th, when the suspect went into Juice Island, located at 1025 Lexington Avenue, between East 60th and 61st Street.

The woman, who police identify as Jamison, had ordered a smoothie from a 39-year-old employee, but didn’t have enough money to pay for the drink, a store manager told Upper East Site last week.

After arguing with with the woman, that the employee gave her the smoothie for free and the suspect ended up walking out, the manager explained.
While the worker had his back turned, the woman came back in grabbed and knife from the juice shop counter and repeatedly stabbed the employee in his head, neck, back and hands, the manager and police said.

The juice shop manager said that the victim needed 18 stitches to close the wound on his neck and was released from the hospital last Thursday afternoon.

I certainly do not agree with the statistics that say crime is down. It’s not true. They are massaging those numbers. I don’t think anyone does believe them
