Gun-Toting Stick Up Crew Targets Upper East Side Senior & Doorman

MANHATTAN – It was twenty minutes to ten o’clock when a quiet night on the Upper East Side turned into a terrifying situation– an armed robbery and home invasion targeting a 68-year-old man who was simply trying to go home.

Investigators say four suspects followed the man into his building near East 81st Street and Madison Avenue last Sunday night. Once inside the door, the crew flashed their pistols and told him to hand over everything. Then, police say they grabbed the 67-year-old doorman and forced both him and the victim into the elevator, and then into the victim’s apartment.

The robbers gottheir hands on cash and jewelry worth about $10,000 before taking off in a dark colored minivan, police say. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
