Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling a small fire on the tenth floor of an Upper East Side building Thursday afternoon, officials told Upper East Site.

The fire sparked around 5:15 pm in the 12-story building located at 336 East 96th Street, right next door to the gas station at the corner of First Avenue.

Four FDNY units comprised of 22 firefighters and paramedics were on the scene and able to bring the small fire under control, officials say — giving the all clear at 6:45 pm.
The two injured firefighters were taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center for treatment, officials say.

Property records show the building is owned by the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services and provides supportive housing to adults with mental illness, according to the group’s website.
Upper East Site reached out to the JBFCS for more information, but did not immediately hear back.
