Elderly Man Punched in the Face in Random UES Attack: NYPD

A 74-year-old man has become one of the latest victims of random violence on the Upper East Side — struck in the face with a punch in an unprovoked felony assault by a stranger on a Yorkville sidewalk, according to police.

Investigators say it was last Friday, January 27th, around 5:00 pm, when the suspect attacked his elderly victim on East 91st Street, between First and Second Avenue, coming up on the 74-year-old and hitting him with a haymaker in the face, causing an injury. The victim refused medical attention at the scene, say police.

In photos released by NYPD detectives, taken from a surveillance camera on the apartment building at 307 East 91st Street, the suspect is seen wearing a dark-colored trench coat with a hoodie underneath.
