A new wine bar specializing in crepes will open its doors on Lexington Avenue in the coming weeks. While Bonjour Mixeur is new to the Upper East Side, the team behind the new establishment is entrenched in the neighborhood.

Located at 1436 Lexington Avenue between East 93rd and 94th Streets, signage recently went up for Bonjour Mixeur Creperie & Wine Bar, an offshoot of the popular UES cafe Bonjour Crepes and Wine, which sits a block north of the new restaurant, as well as Bread ‘N Wine, located one block south.

Signage for Bonjour Mixeur takes over the long-vacant space most recently home to the Greek restaurant Feta Bar & Grill, which closed more than six years ago.

Construction was underway at the new restaurant on Thursday morning, with the sounds of drills and saws humming through the establishment’s paper-covered windows. A peek inside revealed the buildout still needs plenty of work before it can begin welcoming customers.
An employee at Bread ‘N Wine, Bonjour Mixeur’s sister restaurant, told Upper East Site that they expect the new creperie and wine bar to open in a few weeks, providing no firm date for the grand opening.

While seeking a recommendation for a liquor license from Community Board 8’s Street Life Committee back in March, representatives for the new restaurant revealed that Bonjour Mixeur would feature a cafe-style menu. However, the offerings remain unknown, except for crepes, of course.
