How sweet it is! The corner of Lexington Avenue and East 78th Street is now an uptown destination, as the famous French patisserie Angelina Paris opened its second permanent location in New York City right here on the Upper East Side on Thursday.

Located at 1121 Lexington Avenue, Angelina Paris became the first retail space inside the brand new luxury condominium building constructed at 150 East 78th Street to begin welcoming customers.

“Sweet treats have arrived on the Upper East Side!” the world famous brand announced on social media on Wednesday morning.

“We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our new Lexington shop, serving up delicious and fresh pastries daily.”

A slimmed down concept here on the UES, Angelina’s intimate new retail space does not include a full-service tea room or restaurant, instead it focuses on counter service for their signature pastries — like the Mont-Blanc featuring chestnut cream vermicelli, meringue and light whipped cream or the classic chocolate eclair.

In addition to pastries, the new Angelina Paris boutique also offers a selection of salads, sandwiches, gourmet gifts and, of course, Angelina’s decadent, world famous hot chocolate.

As Upper East Site first reported last November, Angelina was originally shooting for a mid-January grand opening, but was experiencing delays as it waited for the proper construction permits.

Founded in 1903 by Austrian confectioner Antoine Rumpelmayer and named in honor of his daughter-in-law, Angelina Paris has grown to include dozens of locations across eleven countries worldwide.
