An elderly blind woman disappeared from her Upper East Side apartment without a trace and now the NYPD is asking the public for help finding the diminutive 83-year-old who hasn’t been seen in more than a month and a half.
Adele Adeleson was last seen in her apartment, located in a co-op at the corner of East 68th Street and Third Avenue in Lenox Hill, back on Friday, January 27th, investigators say. Adeleson has not been seen since 9:15 am that day, according to police.

A law enforcement source familiar with the investigation tells Upper East Site that a social worker showed up at the woman’s apartment for a scheduled appointment this week, only to discover the 83-year-old blind woman was missing.
Adele Adeleson stands just 5’ tall and weighs 95 pounds — police say she was last seen wearing a gray coat.
Anyone who has seen Adele or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
